Deep Tissue Massage  Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don’t get too uncomfortable.

Deep tissue massage is generally combined with other modalities to prevent post-massage soreness.  After the treatment, drink plenty of water to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Sports Massage and Chronic Injury  Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics.  Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term.  Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates.  Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body’s natural immune function.

Trigger Point Therapy Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing “trigger points” in your body.  Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle tissue rather than along the energy pathways of the body.  These ‘knots’ are built up throughout a person’s life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress.  During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques order to release your trigger points. This process can be painful at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative once the muscle is released.

Medical Massage  Medical Massage differs from regular Massage and Bodywork in that the treatment is specifically directed to resolve conditions diagnosed by a medical doctor.  I may use a variety of modalities or techniques during the treatment, but I focus the treatment only on the specific areas of the body related to the diagnosis.  This enhances the body’s natural self-healing process and reduces the needed recovery time from injury.  Some examples of medical massage may include recovery from surgery or plastic surgery, and recovery from soft tissue injuries.

Lymphatic Drainage  Lymphatic Drainage Therapy aims to gently and rhythmically move the lymph through the body, especially swollen areas of the body, relieving pressure and enhancing the functioning of the immune system.  As both a preventative and remedial technique, MLD can be used for a wide range of purposes including faster recovery from injury, reduction of swelling and discomfort from pregnancy, and strengthened resistance to illness.

Myofascial Release Myofascial release is a technique to release stagnant tissues (fascia) that, over time will become restricted, and enhance overall movement of your skin over muscles, and within your muscle groups. It is performed without massager oil or lotion and is slow, firm pressure designed to move the skin over underlying tissues.  This technique is generally combined with other techniques including Swedish massage and trigger point therapy as it compliments and enhances overal results.

The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Reiki Reiki is healing, balancing and harmonizing energy that you may choose to accept or reject. Reiki energy is gently healing energy that will focus itself to the areas in greatest need of healing energy.  There is a reiki symbol to provide healing energy to any need. It can be used to enhance massage and HRT sessions, or used independently. My Reiki practice spans 40 symbols across 6 traditions

I offer reiki treatments simply focused on Reiki both in person and long distance,  30 and 60 minute sessions.  Alternatively, you may select Reiki as an additional option for any massage, with a slight additional fee.

Starting in April 2012, I am offering individual or small group reiki classes. Please contact me if you are interested to pursue this option.

High Resonance Therapy (HRT)  HRT focusses on balancing energy within, between and along the chakras.  Each chakra has an associated vibration, color and rotation. When any of these are our of balance, we experience imbalances in our life, emotions, and behavior. When a particular imbalance exists for long periods, it can present physical symptions associated with that region of your body.  HRT proactively addresses imbalance by focussing positive energy to shift into balance.

Who should seek High Resonance Therapy?  Anyone!  At a minimum you will feel completely refreshed and energized after a session, but it will also help you address issues that reside in either, or both, the conscious or subconscious levels.  Are you still processing the loss of a friend or family member? Loss of a job? Traumatic episodes in your past?  Do you feel like you need heal from heart break or disappintment?  Everyone seems to have something buried in their past that is hidden in the depths, but still in need of releasing from your orbit.  HRT can help you release.

Other Modalities:

Sound Healing: Every emotion is tuned to a vibration, as is any sound.  The human voice is the most powerful sound healing instrument, as are singing crystal bowls, drums, and various instruments can be used to enhance any session.  The sound will help you shift your personal vibration up to a higher vibration in line with the instrument.

Aromatherapy:  Every emotion is tuned to a vibration, as is smell.  A specific aroma or blend of aromas can assist in your shift to a more comfortable state.
